Intensive Finnish Language Course for Expatriate Finns

The Finland Society will arrange an intensive Finnish language course for expatriate Finns on July 16 - 27, 2012. The course will be held at Laajasalo Folk High School, which is located in a suburb of Helsinki, about 9 kilometers from the center of Helsinki. There are good and rapid connections between Laajasalo Folk High School and the center of the city.

The Seminar fee is 895 euros for Finland Society members (930 euros for non-members), which covers tuition, room (double occupancy) and board, study book and some free-time programme. The course is primarily for descendants of Finnish emigrants who are planning to move to Finland. The foreign spouses of expatriate Finns may also attend the course. Students should be over 18 years of age and preferably under 45 years old.

Knowledge of Finnish is not required. The language of instruction is English. Consequently, a sufficient knowledge of English is necessary. Finnish (50 lessons) will be taught in small groups at three levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Lectures (in English) give the participants information on various aspects of Finnishness and on moving to Finland as well as advice in job hunting in Finland.

Application deadline is April 30, 2012. For more information and application forms, please visit www.suomi-seura.fi.
